About this site
Jacks Hut is a rare surviving example of a roadman’s cottage built in 1879 on New Zealand’s highest altitude main highway. It was restored in 2004 and is now located on the east side of SH73 near Arthur's Pass township. It previously served as a family crib and storeroom/extra bedroom. It is accessible via the Arthur's Pass Walking Track.
