About this site
Mid Pohangina Hut is a 4-bunk standard hut in Ruahine Forest Park, maintained by the Palmerston North Tramping and Mountaineering Club. It was renovated in March 2024 and features a water tank and woodburner. Donations are welcomed for its use, or DOC hut tickets are accepted. Access is via Takapari Road (5.5-7.5 hours) or Tamaki West Road (6.5 hours).
