About this site
Herricks Hut is a basic five-bunk hut built in 1960 by the New Zealand Forest Service and maintained by volunteers. Located at 460m altitude in Ruahine Forest Park, it has tank water supply and is largely isolated from other tracks. Access is possible through Thorn Flat Station, requiring prior landowner permission.
