About this site
Packhorse Hut is a bookable, serviced, nine-bunk hut located in the Banks Peninsula and Christchurch area of Canterbury. It offers easy access from Kaituna Valley, making it suitable for families, and provides sweeping views of Lyttelton Harbour. Built of local volcanic stone, it is a historic structure designed by Samuel Hurst Seager.
