About this site
Maungahuka Hut, located below Maungahuka peak (1330 m) in Tararua Forest Park, is a standard 10-bunk hut managed by the Greater Wellington Backcountry Network. It is a popular overnight destination for the Tararua Peaks circuit and part of the Main Range hut network. The current hut was built in 2006, replacing an original 1962 Forest Service hut.
